Introduction

What is Lost?

Lost is a modern, highly customizable link-in-bio platform built for creators, gamers, streamers, artists, and anyone who wants to present a polished online identity in one place. Instead of linking to ten different platforms, you share a single URL — your Lost profile — and visitors get everything about you at a glance.

Your profile at lost.ax/username is fully yours: custom colors, fonts, animations, audio, video backgrounds, badges, live integrations, and more.

Key Features

Deep Customization

Colors, fonts, effects, cursors, particles, animations, and card layouts — every detail is adjustable.

Live Integrations

Show your Discord status, Spotify track, Steam game, or Twitch stream live on your profile.

Analytics

Track profile views, link clicks, top countries, device breakdown, and hourly/daily charts.

Templates

Save your entire profile as a reusable template or apply community presets in one click.

Audio Player

Embed background music with autoplay, volume control, and trim start/end points.

Badges

System and custom badges verify your status — Verified, Premium, Staff, OG and more.

  1. 1Go to /register and create your free account with a username, email, and password.
  2. 2Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox.
  3. 3Open your Dashboard and add your first link under the Links tab.
  4. 4Customize your profile colors, avatar, and banner under Profile Settings.
  5. 5Share your profile link /your-username anywhere you want.

Creating an Account

Registration Steps

Navigate to /register to create your Lost account. Registration is free and takes under a minute.

  1. 1Enter a unique username — this becomes your profile URL. Usernames may only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens.
  2. 2Enter a valid email address. This is used for account recovery and notifications.
  3. 3Set a password of at least 8 characters.
  4. 4Submit the form. A verification email is sent immediately.
You can also register via Discord OAuth — click Continue with Discord on the login/register page and authorize the app. Your Discord avatar and username are imported automatically.

Email Verification

After registering you will receive an email with a verification link. Click it to activate your account. Until verified, some features may be limited. If you don't receive it within a few minutes, check your spam folder or use the resend option on the login page.

Signing In

Email & Password

Go to /login and enter your registered email and password. On success you are redirected to your Dashboard.

Discord OAuth

Click Continue with Discord on the login page. You will be redirected to Discord to authorize Lost. If no account exists yet for that Discord ID, one is created automatically using your Discord username and avatar.

If you already have a Lost account and later connect Discord from the Dashboard integrations tab, your existing account is linked — not duplicated.

Email 2FA Codes

If Email 2FA is enabled for your account and the system is enabled by the admin, Lost sends a 6-digit verification code to your email after both normal password login and Discord login. Entering the code completes the sign-in.

Sessions last 30 days. Once that session expires, the next login asks for a new email code again. If the admin globally disables Email 2FA, sign-in works normally and Lost stops asking for the code until the system is turned back on.

Forgot Password

Click Forgot password? on the login page. Enter your email address and a password reset link is sent. The link expires after 1 hour. After resetting, log in with your new password.

Landing Page

Navigation

The top navigation bar contains links to Features, Showcase, Explore, Pricing, and Analytics. Logged-in users see a Dashboard button; visitors see Sign in and Get Started.

Hero Section

The hero presents a headline and the core value proposition of Lost. Two main CTAs are shown: Claim your username (leads to /register) and Browse profiles (leads to /explore). Animated profile preview cards demonstrate what a finished profile looks like.

Feature Sections

Scrolling down reveals sections that highlight capabilities: deep customization, integrations showcase, analytics preview, template library, and a final CTA section. The page is entirely static and loads instantly.

Explore

Browsing Profiles

Visit /explore to discover public profiles created by the Lost community. Profiles are displayed as cards showing the user's avatar, display name, username, accent color, and a snippet of their bio. Clicking a card opens that user's full profile.

Searching

Use the search bar at the top of the Explore page to find profiles by username or display name. Results update in real time as you type. No account is required to browse or search.

Showcase

The /showcase page highlights a curated selection of notable Lost profiles. It serves as inspiration for new users to see what the platform is capable of. Profiles featured in Showcase are hand-picked by the Lost team.

Features & Pricing

Features Page

The /features page provides a detailed breakdown of every capability Lost offers — from profile customization and integrations to analytics and templates. It compares free and premium tiers side by side.

Pricing Page

The /pricing page shows the current plans available. The Free tier gives you a fully functional profile with up to 5 links and 3 integrations. The Premium tier unlocks every feature with no limits. See the section for the complete list.

Dashboard Overview

The Dashboard is your control center. Access it at /dashboard after signing in. The top navigation bar offers quick links to open your profile, copy your profile URL, and go back to the landing page.

Stats Cards

The Overview tab shows four key metric cards at a glance: Profile Views, Link Clicks, Click-through Rate (CTR), and Active Links. Each card shows the value for the selected time range and a growth percentage compared to the previous period. Premium users see fully detailed analytics; free users see summary numbers only.

Top Links Widget

Below the stats cards you will find the Top Links panel, which ranks your links and social links by the number of clicks received in the selected time range. Both regular links and social icons are included. The bar chart shows relative click volumes at a glance.

Live Preview Panel

On the right side of the dashboard (desktop) a real-time preview of your public profile is always visible. Every change you make — colors, text, effects — is reflected immediately in the preview without needing to save first.

You can collapse the preview panel using the toggle in the top-right corner to get more space for editing on smaller screens.

Saving Changes

A Save Changes button appears in the header whenever unsaved modifications exist. Clicking it persists all changes to your profile and makes them live immediately. You can also revert any unsaved changes using the Revert button next to it.

Profile Settings

Access via the Profile tab group in the dashboard sidebar. This section controls the core identity information shown on your public profile.

Username

Your username is your unique identifier and forms your profile URL: /your-username. Usernames must be between 3–30 characters and may only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens. Username changes have a 30-day cooldown — plan accordingly before changing it.

Changing your username immediately changes your profile URL. Any existing links to your old URL will stop working.

Display Name & Bio

Your Display Name is the name shown prominently on your profile — it can be anything and has no uniqueness requirement. Your Bio is a short description shown below your name. Markdown-style bold and italic are not rendered; plain text only. Your Location field is optional and can be hidden via the Hide Location toggle in the Premium settings.

Avatar

Upload a profile picture by clicking the avatar area in the Assets tab. You can either upload a file (PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 10 MB on free / 25 MB on premium) or paste a URL from an external image. When using a URL, Lost automatically downloads and re-hosts the image locally to prevent broken images from link expiry.

Banner

The banner appears at the top of your profile card. Three banner modes are available:

  • Image — upload a static image (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF on premium).
  • Video — upload an MP4 or WebM video that loops silently behind your profile (Premium only).
  • Gradient — choose a CSS gradient color instead of a media file.

Free users can upload images up to 55 MB. Premium users can upload images up to 100 MB, and videos up to 100 MB.

Assets & Uploads

The Assets section of the dashboard lets you manage all your uploaded files — avatar, background/banner, audio, cursor, and custom badge images. Each file shows a preview, size, and upload status. You can delete files you no longer need. File limits per type:

  • Avatar — 10 MB (free) / 25 MB (premium)
  • Background/Banner — 55 MB (free) / 100 MB (premium)
  • Audio — up to 20 MB (premium only)
  • Cursor — custom cursor image (premium only)

18+ Content Toggle

If your profile contains adult content, enable the 18+ Adult Content toggle found in the Assets section (inside the Free limits box). When enabled, visitors who open your profile will first see an age-verification screen. They must confirm they are 18 or older before the profile is revealed. Selecting No redirects them to the Lost homepage. The verification is remembered for the browser session.

Colors & Theme

Accent Color

The accent color is the single most impactful setting — it drives button highlights, link hover states, glow effects, badge borders, and the profile's overall feel. Pick any hex color using the color picker or type a value directly. The default is #8b5cf6 (violet).

Background & Card Color

Background Color sets the page background behind your profile card. Card Color controls the fill of the profile card itself. Both accept RGBA values, allowing semi-transparent cards over your background for a layered glass effect.

Text Colors

Four text color slots are available: Text Color (primary — name, link titles), Secondary Text (bio, captions), Icon Color (social icons, location pin), and Badge Color / Socials Color / Views Color for per-element fine-tuning.

Theme Presets

The dashboard now also includes My Presets, where you can save up to 6 snapshots of your current profile setup, apply them later, rename them, overwrite them, or publish one into the Templates gallery if you have premium. Color controls still let you fine-tune the result after applying a preset, and the same area also includes SEO & Open Graph fields for link previews.

Presence Layout

Directly under Card Layout there is now a Presence Layout section for premium users. It lets you control the width of the individual Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Spotify presence cards without changing the rest of the profile layout.

Each service has its own width slider, so you can keep one card compact while making another one wider. This works across all profile layouts, including Classic, Spotlight, Minimal, Split, and the other premium layout variants.

The same section also includes a Spotify Progress Color picker. That color controls the playback line in the Spotify card and is separate from your main accent color if you want the music card to stand out on its own.

Typography

Font Family

Choose from a curated list of Google Fonts including Inter, Geist, Outfit, Space Grotesk, Syne, Raleway, Oswald, and many more. Some display fonts are marked Premium. The font is applied globally to all text on your profile.

Font Sizes

Individual font size sliders let you independently control the size of your Name, Username, Bio, Views counter, Social icons, Badges, Link buttons, and the Location icon. This allows precise typographic hierarchy without touching CSS.

Visual Effects

Most visual effects are Premium features. Free users can preview them in the dashboard but they will only appear on the live profile after upgrading.

Profile Animation

The profile animation controls how your card enters the screen when a visitor loads your profile. Available animations: None, Fade, Unfold, Pop, Slide Up, Zoom, Blur In, Flip, Bounce, and Glitch. Each plays once on page load.

Glow Effects

Enable Glow to add a colored luminous halo around elements. Individual glow toggles exist for Username, Social Icons, and Badges. Each element can have its own glow color independent of the main accent. The master Glow Color sets the default for all glow elements.

Border Animation

Applies a continuous animated gradient border to the profile card. Options include Spin, Pulse, Shimmer, Rainbow, and Neon. Set to None to disable.

Hover Effects

The dashboard option is now Hover Effect for Socials and Badges. It controls how those rows react on the live preview and public profile. Depending on the selected effect, visitors can see scale, glow, lift, shake, pulse, tilt, or no hover animation at all. You can combine this with the Socials Background and Badges Background blur-box toggles for a stronger glass effect.

Snow & Rain

Toggle animated Snow or Rain particles that fall across the entire profile background. Only one can be active at a time — enabling one automatically disables the other. These are purely decorative and do not block interaction.

Ambient Glow

When enabled, a large soft radial glow emanates from behind the profile card using a chosen color. It creates a warm background bloom effect that makes the card appear to float in light.

Click Effects

When a visitor clicks anywhere on your profile, a small animation plays at the click point. Available styles: Ripple, Burst, Ring, Spark, Confetti, Heart, Star, and None. Each has its own color setting.

Parallax

When parallax is enabled, moving the mouse causes the profile background to subtly shift in the opposite direction, creating a depth illusion. Works best with image or video backgrounds.

Spotlight Effect

Adds a soft spotlight that follows the mouse cursor across the background, illuminating the area around it. Modes: Small, Medium, Large, and None.

Cursor

Cursor Types

The Cursor section lets you replace the default mouse pointer on your profile with a custom style. Built-in options include various pointer shapes, crosshairs, and themed cursors. Selecting Custom Image lets you upload your own cursor file (premium).

Cursor Trail

Enable the Cursor Trail to render a chain of fading dots that follow the cursor's path. Customize the trail color and trail length (number of dots, 1–30).

Cursor Glow

Adds a large soft radial glow that follows the cursor. Adjust the glow color and glow size (in pixels). The glow is rendered on a separate layer and does not interfere with clicks.

Cursor Effects

A second layer of cursor interaction beyond the trail. Each effect has a dedicated color picker.

Color & Count

Set the particle color to any hex value — typically your accent color for visual cohesion. The particle count slider (1–200) controls density. Higher counts are more dramatic but may reduce performance on low-end devices. A count of 40–60 is recommended for a balanced look.

Audio Player

Audio is a Premium feature. Free users can add an audio URL but the player will not be visible on the public profile.

Adding Audio

In the Assets tab, click the Audio upload area to either upload an MP3, WAV, OGG, or FLAC file (up to 20 MB) or paste an external URL to a hosted audio file.

Playback Settings

  • Autoplay — start the track automatically when a visitor opens the profile. Note: browsers require a user gesture before audio can play; autoplay will often be blocked on the first visit.
  • Default Volume — sets the initial volume level (0–100%). Visitors can adjust it using the volume widget.
  • Show Volume Control — toggle to show or hide the volume slider on your public profile.

Start & End Trim

The Audio Start and Audio End fields let you trim the playback range in seconds. For example: Start 30 and End 90 will only play the segment between 0:30 and 1:30 of your audio file, looping within that range. Leave blank to play the full track.

Layout & Cards

Profile Layouts

Select from six distinct layout structures Premium:

Classic

Centered column with avatar on top

Card

Horizontal header, avatar left

Minimal

Left-aligned typography focus

Split

Sidebar + content columns

Spotlight

Oversized avatar, bold text

Compact

Inline header, grid links

  • Default (Classic) — centered column layout with avatar on top, content below.
  • Card — avatar on the left, name and bio on the right in a horizontal header.
  • Minimal — left-aligned, compact typography-focused layout.
  • Split — two-column design with avatar and socials in a sidebar.
  • Spotlight — oversized avatar takes center stage with bold typography.
  • Compact — inline header row with links in a two-column grid.

Card Styles

The Card Style setting controls the visual treatment of the profile card surface: Glass (frosted semi-transparent), Solid (opaque fill), Gradient (gradient fill using accent), Outline (border only, transparent fill), and Minimal (no card — content floats directly on the background).

Card Customization

Fine-tune the card container with individual sliders and pickers:

  • Card Opacity — 0% (invisible) to 100% (fully opaque).
  • Card Blur — backdrop blur intensity (0–40px).
  • Border Color and Border Width — custom card outline.
  • Border Radius — corner roundness in pixels.
  • Shadow — drop shadow intensity.
  • Card Height — controls how tall the card should be before content expands it naturally.

Avatar Shape

Choose from Circle, Rounded Square, Square, and Hexagon. You can also toggle the Avatar Border (uses accent color) and Avatar Glow. The Avatar Animation option adds a continuous loop animation: Pulse, Spin, Bounce, or Float.

Content Position

The Content Position setting determines the vertical alignment of the profile content within the card: Top, Center, or Bottom. This is useful for taller cards where you want breathing room around the content.

Analytics

Full analytics (charts, countries, devices, top links breakdown) require Premium. Free users see total view and click counts only.

Profile Views

Every time a unique visitor opens your profile, a view event is recorded with a timestamp, country (derived from IP), device type, and referrer URL. The dashboard shows total views for the selected range and a percentage growth compared to the prior equal-length period.

Link Clicks & CTR

A click event is recorded each time a visitor clicks any link or social icon on your profile. CTR (Click-Through Rate) is calculated as (total clicks / total views) × 100. A high CTR indicates your links are relevant and well-placed.

Top Links

The Top Links panel ranks all your links and social icons by number of clicks in the selected time range. Both regular links and social icons are included. Click counts update in real time after each visitor interaction.

Countries & Devices

The analytics dashboard shows a geographic breakdown of your profile views by country, and a device classification chart splitting traffic into Desktop, Mobile, Tablet, and Bot. Bot traffic is automatically filtered from engagement metrics.

Time Ranges

Switch between 3 Days, 7 Days, 30 Days, and 90 Days using the range selector at the top of the analytics panel. All charts and counters update instantly to reflect the chosen window.

Links

Adding Links

Pick platform

Choose a social tile in Links

Choose mode

Set Link or Text when supported

Save popup

Reorder

Drag items into the order you want

The current Links tab is focused on social links. Click a platform tile to open a popup where you add the social, then choose between Link mode and Text mode when that platform supports both. Text mode is useful for copy-to-clipboard values like usernames, tags or IDs.

Managing & Reordering

Existing socials can be reordered with drag and drop, hidden with the visibility toggle, or removed entirely. Editing now also opens a popup, so you can change the saved value without leaving the list.

Link Styles

Inside the edit popup, supported socials can switch between Link and Text even after creation. Custom links can also update their display name and icon, either through a direct image URL or a file upload from your PC.

Visibility & Limits

Free accounts can currently add up to 5 social links. Premium accounts remove that limit. Make sure link-mode entries use a real URL so they stay recognized as links after refresh.

Badges

System Badges

System badges are awarded automatically by Lost and appear beneath your username. The standard system badges are:

  • Verified — awarded by the Lost team to confirmed real persons or notable accounts.
  • Premium — shown on all active premium subscriber profiles.
  • Staff — indicates a member of the Lost team.
  • OG — awarded to early adopters of the platform.
  • Lost User — shown to all accounts with a verified email address.

Custom Badges

Admins can create global custom badges and assign them to specific users, all users, or verified users only. Custom badges support a custom name, icon (from the Lucide icon set), image URL, color, description, and tooltip text that appears on hover.

Managing Visibility

In the Badges tab of the dashboard, you can toggle the visibility of each badge individually using the eye icon. Hiding a badge removes it from your public profile without permanently deleting it. The Show Badges master toggle hides or shows all badges at once.

Templates

Creating and applying templates requires Premium. Free users can browse all templates and view profiles but cannot create or apply them.

What are Templates

A template is a saved snapshot of the profile at the moment it is published or overwritten. Along with the main visual styling, templates can preserve things like avatar, banner, socials, badges and supported presence snapshot data so the preview stays consistent even if the user changes their live profile later.

Creating a Template

Customize

Build the exact profile look you want

Create template

Open the create modal from Templates

Open preview

Check the dedicated template page

Apply or restore

Load that snapshot later anytime

Click Create Template at the top of the Templates tab. A modal appears where you enter a name and optional description. On submit, the current profile snapshot is saved into the gallery together with its preview media.

Applying a Template

Browse the Templates gallery and click Apply Template to load that snapshot onto the profile. This can restore more than just colors and effects, so if you want to keep your current setup, save your own preset or template first.

Applying a template is immediate. If the template was created from a fuller snapshot, it can restore layout, media and supported profile content exactly as it was saved.

Overwriting a Template

On your own template cards you will see an Overwrite button. Use it when you want the existing template to capture your latest profile state while keeping the same gallery entry and uses counter.

Browsing & Search

Use the search bar to filter by template name, description, or creator username. Sort by Recently Created, Most Used, or Less Used. The Open action now goes to a dedicated template preview page, not the creator's current live profile.

Image Hosting

Image Hosting is a separate Add-on, not part of regular Premium. It currently includes 5 GB lifetime storage.

Access & Add-on

When the Image Hosting add-on is enabled on your account, a new Image Hosting tab appears in the dashboard below Templates. This area is built for hosting images, GIFs, and clips with direct file URLs and clean public /media/id share pages.

You can upload supported formats directly or import them by URL. Supported formats currently include PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, AVIF, MP4, WEBM, and MOV.

Default Media SEO

Set default SEO

Choose the fallback title and description once

Upload media

New files use that default automatically

Override per file

Only edit a file when it needs custom embed text

Share anywhere

Use direct links or the public media page

The top of the Image Hosting tab contains Default Media SEO. This is the fallback title and description used for future uploads and URL imports. It is separate from your normal profile SEO and only affects media share pages.

If one file needs something different, open that item in the library and click SEO. File-level SEO always overrides the saved default for that one upload.

This is the best way to avoid Discord showing raw filenames like hero_image.png when you share a media page.

Library, Filters & Storage

The Hosted Media area is your library. Every card shows a preview, file type, size, views, and whether it is using custom or default SEO. Videos can also be previewed directly from the library with built-in playback controls.

At the top of the library you can:

  • Search by SEO title, description, filename, or type
  • Filter by All, Images, Clips, SEO Ready, or Missing SEO
  • Sort by Newest, Oldest, Largest, or Most viewed

The storage card tracks how much of your 5 GB limit is used. Very small uploads may show as <1% instead of rounding down to zero, so progress is still visible even when you only uploaded a few megabytes.

Direct Links & Share Pages

Each uploaded file has two share methods:

  • Direct link — copies the raw hosted file URL
  • Share page — copies the public /media/id page with cleaner SEO and embed behavior

The public media page displays the uploaded image or video, the active SEO title and description, file details, and a quick link back to the owner's profile. This is usually the better option for Discord or social embeds when presentation matters.

Presence Display

When Discord presence is enabled, a card on your public profile shows your current status (Online, Idle, Do Not Disturb, or Offline), your current activity (game or app you are using), and any custom status text you have set. Data is refreshed every 30 seconds via the Lost bot.

For the richest Steam presence data, keep your Steam profile and game details public. If Steam privacy blocks the data, the connection can still exist but some details may not show.

Game Presence

When Steam presence is enabled, the profile can show your current game, recently played games, and your Steam level. These controls live in the premium presence area and only become useful once the Steam account is connected.

In the Settings tab of the dashboard, click Change Email. Enter your new email address and submit. A verification link is sent to the new address. Your email is not changed until the link is clicked. Until then, your old email remains active.

Password

In the Settings tab, use the Change Password section. Enter your current password, then your new password twice. The new password must be at least 8 characters. Discord-only accounts (no password set) can add a password here.

Email 2FA

Directly below Change Password you can enable Email 2FA. Lost sends a verification code to your account email, and entering the correct 6-digit code turns the feature on. You also receive a confirmation email after it is activated.

When enabled, both password login and Discord login can require an email code after your 30-day session expires. If the admin has globally disabled Email 2FA for the site, the setting shows as unavailable and sign-in behaves like normal until it is turned back on.

Deleting Your Account

Account deletion is available in the Settings → Danger Zone section. You must type your username exactly to confirm. Deletion is permanent and irreversible — all your data, links, analytics, uploads, and settings are erased. There is no grace period or recovery option.

Deleting your account permanently frees your username. Anyone else can register it immediately afterward.
